Heat Geek vs Octopus (UK 2026)
Heat Geek vs Octopus (UK 2026): side-by-side decision aid with capex, grant treatment, payback shape and surveyor's note.
| Dimension | Heat Geek (Mastery network) | Octopus Cosy 6 |
|---|---|---|
| Design model | Low-temp design-led; bespoke per house | Standardised process at national volume |
| Headline price | Quote-only | "From £500" post-BUS |
| Delivered SCOP | Heat Geek dataset consistently above3.8 on well-designed jobs | Variable; depends on installer crew |
| Premium | £1,500 to £4,000 above national volume | n/a |
Surveyor's note
If you can afford the design premium and intend to run the pump for 15 years, the delivered-SCOP gap pays the premium back. If you cannot, the Octopus floor price plus a careful tariff strategy is the defensible answer.
